Health Physical Education 9 Physical Education 10/11/12 Advanced Competitive Games Weight Training & Personal Fitness
The Athletics, Health & Wellness Department offers a variety of course options for students to fulfill the physical education requirement at OLSH:
Phys Ed 9 and 10/11/12 covers the five components of fitness: body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular endurance.
Advanced Competitive Games is designed for advanced athletes looking to further develop their fitness and coordination skills.
Weight Training & Personal Fitness teaches students the proper ways to train and exercise, stressing technique and form. Students learn to construct a workout and take care of minor ailments that may prevent them from reaching their full fitness potential.
Health class focuses on decision-making skills related to healthy behaviors and lifestyles, and includes topics like drug and alcohol awareness, mental health, and peer to peer relationships, among others.
