Department Highlights

  • Theology Department faculty strive to transmit, faithfully, the genuine message of Christ and the authentic teaching of the Church.
  • Students are introduced to the school’s Felician Core Values with a course in the freshman year. These values are put into action throughout a student’s four years at OLSH. As seniors, students demonstrate a deeper understanding of the values through the Senior Seminar: Felician Values Fulfilled.
  • OLSH traditionally holds a Eucharistic Procession on the school grounds each year, beginning with Eucharistic adoration and concluding with Benediction.
  • Students develop their faith through attendance at Mass with the Felician Sisters, class retreats, and campus ministry.
  • The entire school community celebrates Mass together at least once a week and participates in various prayer services, penance services, and Stations of the Cross seasonally.
  • Students study theology with supplemental texts including papal encyclicals and other church documents, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, writings of the Saints, and current events articles.
  • Students are provided the opportunity for weekly confession and adoration in the OLSH Chapel.
