OLSH Welcomes New Teachers & Staff

Three new teachers joined the OLSH faculty this year, in the Math, World Languages, and Art departments. Additionally, staff from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit will once again be on campus to support our students and two OLSH staff members have moved into new roles.

Freshman Foundations Day Welcomes Largest Incoming Class in 5 Years

OLSH hosted Freshman Foundations Day on Sunday to welcome a brand new class of Chargers and to kick-off the new school year. This annual tradition has become a fun way to acquaint our incoming freshman class with OLSH and to prepare them for their high school journey.

OLSH Principal Tim Plocinik has been at OLSH since 1985, and has served as teacher, coach, and assistant principal before his current role of principal. He is proud of the school OLSH has become over the years and of the students, faculty, and staff who make up the OLSH community.

Transfer Student Welcome Day Initiates New Students into the OLSH Family

The OLSH Admissions team hosts Transfer Student Welcome Day each year in an effort to help incoming upperclassmen to adjust to their new surroundings at OLSH. This year’s welcome day, held on August 5th, was attended by four students entering their sophomore and junior years.

OLSH Business Manager Cathy Neubert has been an important part of the OLSH community since 2007. She loves the OLSH family and the opportunity to get to know the students by attending musicals and sporting events.

21 OLSH Students Recognized for AP Achievements

The College Board recognizes the achievements of students taking AP exams with the AP Scholar program. Students are acknowledged for success on multiple AP exams taken. This year 21 OLSH students were recognized.

OLSH Athletics Hall of Fame Inducts 2021 Class

The OLSH Athletics Hall of Fame inducted its first class in five years, recognizing four men who have made a huge impact on OLSH athletics. A former cross country and track coach, the current boys and girls basketball coaches, and the director of Youthtowne, home to many Charger teams were recognized in a celebration at the OLSH AAC.
