Graduation

Ready to take the next step in their journey!

Congratulations to the OLSH Class of 2024 as they prepare for graduation! Below, please find important details about the 2024 Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Ceremony. Any important information about the event and other updates will be posted here as they become available.

Baccalaureate Mass: Thursday, May 30, 7:00 pm, OLSH Chapel

Commencement Exercises: Sunday, June 2, 12:00 pm, OLSH AAC

Baccalaureate Mass
The Baccalaureate Mass is an important tradition during which the Class of 2024 will receive a special blessing and celebrate its faith together as a class. Students should dress in their graduation gown, along with any appropriate regalia (i.e. NHS stoles). Caps are not worn for Mass; athletic medallions may not be worn at Mass. Students will sit together as a class for Mass.

Tickets are required for entry. Each graduating senior will receive two (2) tickets for seating in the Chapel and two (2) tickets for seating in the auditorium (for a live broadcast of the Mass). Both Mass locations are fully accessible by wheelchair. Doors to the Chapel and auditorium will open at 6:15 pm. Note: Some guests with Chapel tickets may need to be seated in the choir loft, but the chapel pews will be filled first.

Commencement Exercises
Graduates should report to the OLSH cafeteria by 11:15 am with gown, cap, and tassel. NHS stoles and other academic or athletic pins/medals may be worn. Prior to the procession to the AAC, graduates will pose for their official class photo. All graduates will receive a digital copy of this class photo shortly after graduation.

Tickets are required for entry to the AAC. Each graduating senior will receive a total of eight (8) tickets for seating at Commencement. Seating is first-come, first seated. Doors will open at 11:00 am. Seats cannot be reserved by signs, balloons, clothing, etc. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the Commencement Exercises, as seating will be suspended during the time that the graduates are processing in to the AAC.

Graduation at OLSH is a formal occasion. Please refrain from bringing inappropriate items, such as balloons, beach balls, glitter, confetti, horns, noisemakers, etc. OLSH retains the right to confiscate items of this nature in order to preserve the decorum of the ceremony.

Parking is limited; carpooling is strongly encouraged. The (main) OLSH faculty and staff lot, AAC lots, and semi-circular drive in front of the school will be open for guest parking. Parking is NOT permitted on Woodcrest Avenue. Tailgating on school grounds is strictly prohibited.

A livestream of the Commencement Ceremony will be available here: https://livestream.com/accounts/26082927/events/11149536

Photography
Please refrain from taking photographs during the Baccalaureate Mass.

Family members are welcome to take photographs during the distribution of diplomas. Please approach the left side of the stage just before your child's name is called, and you will be able to take a great photo from that vantage point. We ask that you return to your seat immediately thereafter, allowing others to enjoy the same opportunity. A professional photographer will be photographing the event and images will be available for purchase.

Graduates should refer to the 2024 Commencement Guide for details on arrival times, dress code, and other important details. This document is mailed home with the event tickets to all families.
