Middle States Objectives

OLSH Middle States Objectives 2018-2025

 

Objective #1 - Faith Life

By the year 2025, in keeping with the Felician Mission of cooperating with Christ in the spiritual renewal of the world, OLSH students will grow in their spiritual lives both at home and at school by OLSH increasing its partnership with parent(s)/guardian(s) by sharing Theology homework assignments with their parent(s)/guardian(s), and increasing student scores on the OLSH FORA Assessment as demonstrated by:
  • An increase from 2 to 9, in the number of Theology homework assignments that involve parent(s)/guardian(s) as listed in PowerSchool and reported by the Theology faculty.
  • An increase of 25 percentage points in class average from freshman to senior year on the Faith Objective Religious Assessment (FORA) scores, the in-house assessment of students' knowledge of Catholic teaching.
  • A 20% increase in student participation in the following religious/service activities by the year 2025: Love Walk for the Poor, our Lady's Pantry, Mooncrest After-School Program, Marian Group, Eucharistic Adorers
 

Objective #2 - Intellect Life

By the year 2025, OLSH graduates will demonstrate literacy and proficiency in various 21st century skills as they relate to technology. It is through these skills OLSH students will be prepared to and enable them to be successful in the challenges and opportunities that they may face in a postsecondary education and/or careers.
  • Students will maintain an electronic portfolio that will provide a collection of electronic evidence of works they have created during their years at OLSH. Through the pieces of evidence collected, students will demonstrate their acquired skills in the areas of oral and written communication, social responsibility and ethics, technology literacy and initiative.
By the year 2025, OLSH graduates will increase their academic rigor and be prepared to succeed in post-secondary education and careers without need for remediation as demonstrated by all OLSH graduates scoring at or above college readiness benchmarks as shared on the SAT exam.
  • The importance of student performance on the PSAT/SAT is emphasized with all stakeholders.
  • Students enrolled in AP course offerings increases to match the AP Potential Indicators.
 

Objective #3 - Student Life

By the year 2025, OLSH students will improve their quality of student life at OLSH as demonstrated by:
  • A 25% increase in participation in Student Government activities including Homecoming, Powder Puff, and Sadie Hawkins.
  • A 25% increase in participation in student activities involving the Felician Core Values of Solidarity with the Poor, Compassion, Respect for Human Dignity, and Justice & Peace, including Our Lady's Pantry food drive, March for Life, Adopt-a-Highway, and Campus Clean-Up.
