OLSH Community & Felician Sisters Participate in 34th Annual Love Walk for the Poor

Nearly 70 individuals joined together on the OLSH campus on Sunday, February 11 for the annual Love Walk for the Poor. Now in its 34th year, participants included OLSH students, parents, staff, and alumni, as well as Felician Sisters, and Felician Associates. The group gathered together for Mass in the OLSH Chapel, celebrated by Felician Sisters’ chaplain and Felician Associate Fr. Sam Esposito. The group then walked, carrying donations, around campus, to the Felician Sisters’ Cemetery and back to the school. Donations to Our Lady’s Pantry included 96 non-perishable items, 6 paper products, a case of water, and $395 in monetary donations. Items collected for Choices Pregnancy Center included 28 boxes of diapers, 18 packages of wipes, and 30 additional baby supply items, as well as $110 in monetary donations.

The event, founded by the late Sr. Louise Marie Olsofka, has been sponsored by OLSH Campus Ministry for the past several years and is a beloved OLSH tradition. The event gives participants the opportunity to experience a small taste of the life of those in need, and exemplifies the Felician Core Values of Solidarity with People in Need, Respect for Human Dignity, and Compassion.
