Growing in Faith

All students are required to complete 4 years of Theology classes to graduate, but OLSH also offers many opportunities outside of the classroom for students to deepen their faith. By offering hands-on participation in faith, OLSH seeks to help students have a personal connection to the Catholic tradition.

Theology Classes
Sisters Cemetary
The Theology department strives to provide a welcoming environment that faithfully transmits the genuine message of Christ and the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. The Theology curriculum adheres to the Catholic Bishops Framework for Catholic Education. Yearly topics include the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, The Mission of the Church, the Sacraments, Catholic Social Teaching, and more. Students are required to take 4 years of Theology classes at OLSH. Honors Level classes are available junior and senior years.

Participation in Mass
Students are encouraged to participate in the celebration of the Mass. Opportunities to become lectors, cantors, musicians, altar servers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion can be found by contacting the OLSH Campus Minister or Chaplain.

Spiritual Direction
Students who are interested can meet individually or in groups with the OLSH Chaplain for spiritual direction and prayer. Meetings can be ongoing over the course of the school year or on an as-needed basis.
