Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School
educates and transforms each student
for a life of exceptional Christian leadership,

Vision Statement

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School is committed to providing an education that is accessible, relevant, rigorous, and transformative, and maintaining a nurturing learning environment firmly rooted in the Catholic faith and Felician-Franciscan tradition. OLSH endeavors to cultivate the intellect and personal faith of each of our students, in order for them to become exceptional leaders, faithful citizens, and active models of Christian values.

OLSH Faculty/Staff Creed

As a member of the faculty and staff at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School I believe that I have been called by God to manifest the Person of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Faith to the students entrusted to my care, and to teach and model the Charism and Core Values of the Felician Sisters.I believe young people have a God-given right to know the Truth, and to develop themselves fully as graced human beings, and my companionship with them calls me to help them deepen their faith.

I will foster in my students, and in myself, a loving respect for the dignity of all and a commitment to justice and peace. My work is a trust to create an environment of educational excellence, respect for our unique traditions, and a commitment to personal honesty and integrity. I will maintain a responsible and encouraging sense of discipline as hallmarks in the formation of good Christian citizens.

In keeping with the mission of the Catholic Church and the values and spirit of the Felician Sisters, and in union with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, I seek to be an
instrument that leads OLSH students to the gift of salvation, which God intends as the ultimate destination of our life journeys.

Felician Core Values

As a ministry of the Felician Sisters of North America, OLSH focuses on the Felician Core Values for Ministry, living out Blessed Mary Angela's call to "serve where you are needed."

Respect for human dignity - Our reverence for and commitment to promoting and protecting the dignity of persons

"Preserve among yourselves a unity, peace, love and kindness. Practice toward one another gentleness, understanding and cooperation." --Blessed Mary Angela

Compassion - An empathetic consciousness of others expressed in caring service

"It is important that we are there for one another, bearing one another's burdens." -- Blessed Mary Angela

Transformation - The process that encourages an open mind and heart, leading to continuous improvement of the person and ministry

"Life is change. New life happens when we are open to being changed and transformed."

Solidarity with People in Need - Ensuring the needs of the poor and vulnerable are met through advocacy and action

Mother Angela gathered children...orphans and the elderly who seemed to be alone and neglected. She gained their confidence and discovered their life stories. The children received an education and the needy learned handicrafts.

Justice and Peace - Forging right relationships, re-creating a sustainable environment, promoting the common good, all in the pursuit of peace

"A community spirit does not just happen of itself. It flows from people who share a common tradition and strive for a common goal outside themselves." -- Blessed Mary Angela
