Engage in Active Learning
Students at OLSH are well-prepared to pursue higher education studies.
For over 90 years, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School has provided students with an education rooted in Catholic Felician Franciscan tradition. Students have the opportunity of taking a wide variety of student-centered college preparatory courses. Unique electives allow students to explore special interest areas and our developing STREAM curriculum provides layers of depth into the study of religion and the arts, as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Learn about our special programs:
OLSH students may begin taking AP courses in their sophomore year. Similar to college courses, AP courses are taught at a faster pace, and there is a vast amount of material presented. There is a high degree of self-learning, and often students are expected to work independently outside of class, learning important skills to take with them into college. The OLSH AP Advantage Program affords OLSH students distinct opportunities to take AP courses through a relationship with one of America's finest universities - the University of Notre Dame.
The OWL Center is based on the university-level writing center model. OLSH offers one of only a few secondary school writing center programs in our region. Students seeking writing support work with an OWL Center teacher or a trained peer tutor. During their writing conference, students are provided with personalized tutoring for writing assignments in any of their courses.
Advanced Learning & Leadership Initiative (ALLI)
The ALLI program is offered to select freshmen and sophomores who need multiple methods of instruction to gain a full learning experience. Students are invited to participate in the program based on a review of grade school records and teacher recommendation. ALLI is integrated into students' schedules to heed the most supportive method of learning and features consistent, concise, multi-sensory instruction provided by highly trained and certified Reading Specialists.
