The OLSH Writing & Learning Center (The OWL Center) is open to all OLSH students for individualized tutoring.

Students can participate in writing conferences with English Department teachers or a trained peer tutor. During their writing conference, students are provided with individualized tutoring and support in any writing assignment for any course.

Students can also receive individual tutoring in any of their subjects by the OWL Center instructor, or a trained peer tutor. These are traditionally done during a student's study hall, but can also be scheduled for after school.

Students can also be recommended to the OWL Center by parents, teachers, or school counselors.

The OWL Center is modeled on national college writing and learning center models. Dr. James Purdy, Director of the Duquesne University Writing Center and Dr. Christine Abbott, Director of the La Roche University Writing Center  provided professional support to the OLSH Writing and Learning Center. Peer writing tutors are trained annually.

The OWL Center is located on the second floor library reading porch.
