The OLSH Class of 2024 Welcome Night was held on May 5th for parents/guardians, and May 6th for students. Welcome Night information packets were distributed to RSVP'd participants via email -- please contact Mrs. Kelly Pontiere at email@example.com to obtain your copy. If you missed all or part of the Parent Session, you may request a copy of the recording by completing this form.
A supplemental student session is currently being planned for July 2020. We hope to have an in-person event, however if that cannot be accomplished due to gathering size limitations, we plan to host another Zoom meeting with the student teams, led by the OLSH Student Ambassadors! OLSH is focused on ensuring a smooth transition to high school for our incoming freshman class, and will continue to provide additional opportunities for the class to unify in advance of their matriculation this fall.
The OLSH Class of 2024 Athletics & Activities Night was held via Zoom on May 21st for students and their parents/guardians. If you missed this session, you may obtain a copy of the recording as well as a PDF of the presentation by completing this form.
We encourage all incoming freshmen to officially sign-up for their interest in an activity or sport by completing the Interest Form found here. This will provide coaches and moderators with your information in order to contact you for summer workshops and conditioning, once scheduled.
*Please Note: Activities addressed within this session included those which conduct summer programming. An Activities Fair for all students is typically held in September to enroll in over 40 activities OLSH provides, and as new opportunities arise these are shared through the weekly Grapevine newsletter (distributed every Friday).
All families who applied for tuition assistance through OLSH's expanded aid program (applications due March 16) received notification of their aid awards during the week of April 27.
This year we are in a unique situation, and have taken into account many families’ changing financial situations in light of COVID-19. If you are a family that typically would not qualify for aid, but now have a reduced income because of a parent/guardian job loss, or because of significantly reduced hourly wages during the pandemic, please communicate this change with our Business Office. Your continued communication with our Business Office will allow them to assist you as much as possible with regard to the 2020-2021 school year. OLSH also maintains a Crisis Fund, which may be utilized when families encounter financially trying times during the academic year.
If you have not yet applied for aid through OLSH but are still deciding on your child's high school destination, please complete the FACTS Application for Grant and Aid, found here: https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4H2YY. We will continue to accept applications for financial aid, until all resources are exhausted. You can find answers to some of the most common aid and tuition questions on our FAQs page, located at www.olsh.org/apps/pages/financialfaqs.
All families enrolling in the Class of 2024 should select a payment plan in FACTS Tuition Management system by Monday, June 1.
Selecting a plan will ensure that you have control over the frequency and date your tuition payments occur. Monthly payments may begin July 2020, and run for a 12-month cycle through the academic year, ending in June 2021. Please go to the OLSH FACTS portal at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4H2YY, and use your existing FACTS login (either from your financial aid application, or your private grade school account) to access the Tuition Management side of your account. If you did not previously apply for aid, or your school did not utilize FACTS, you will need to create a new FACTS account.
If you have not made your course selections for the fall semester, or would like to change any of your already-selected courses or electives, please contact your school counselor directly to start this process. They are also available to discuss your placement test results, course readiness, the ALLI program, or any other options to help you succeed in high school and beyond!
OLSH provides countless opportunities to stay in-the-loop on school news and updates, especially as we head into the summer months. The most commonly used methods we contact our families are via email and social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).
If you are not currently receiving OLSH Admissions emails, or would like an additional parent email added to our list, please contact Mrs. Jessica Sellman '02 at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can add your email address to the Class of 2024 distribution list. You will begin to see OLSH emails that are distributed to our current families in late June/early July, which are typically sent at a rate of 1-2 per week. If at any time you are not receiving emails from OLSH, please check your spam folder and white-list the "olsh.org" email accounts, or simply drag one of the OLSH emails into your main inbox. If you require communications-related assistance at any time over your four years at OLSH, please reach out to our director of marketing and communications, Mrs. Jessica Cerchiaro, at email@example.com.
The OLSH Class of 2024 will officially kick off their high school experience with our Welcome Weekend! On Sunday, August 23, the incoming freshman class will come together for Freshman Foundations Day, an orientation experience like no other. There will be competition, games, entertainment, and more!
To conclude the day, we invite families back to join the Class of 2024 for Welcome Mass in the OLSH Chapel, which includes a Matriculation Ceremony for all new students. Following Mass, which fulfills your Sunday obligation, we will host our annual Welcome Picnic for new families on the campus grounds. You don't want to miss this annual tradition, so save the date now! Details along with a request for RSVP will be sent in early July.
