The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) is a religious order that includes lay people, brothers, priests, and sisters on their different missions. For five weeks throughout this summer, Clare Mulvay ‘23 stayed on the SOLT reservation. She spend three of her weeks there assisting at a summer camp for kids in grades K through 12, run by St. Ann’s Parish.
“It’s a really good opportunity for the kids on the reservation to learn about the Catholic faith, especially because this is the only exposure some of them get to it,” Clare said. During her time at the camp, Clare taught kids on the reservation about Catholicism through instructional time and participation in daily Mass. For the older kids, they held youth nights every week, as well as a Eucharistic procession around the St. Ann’s campus.
Clare reflected, “They were all very engaged and the people that live on the reservation really appreciate St. Ann’s and the work that SOLT does here, especially because most of these kids come from pretty rough backgrounds.” The experience was a blessing for Clare and for those who she was serving!
