OLSH Announces New Scholarship for Beaver County Residents

OLSH is pleased to announce the formation of the Beaver County Benefactors Fund for OLSH, which will begin offering varying levels of need-based scholarships to OLSH students beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.  Residence in Beaver County is a pre-requisite for this scholarship funding, as is enrollment in the OLSH FACTS grant and aid assessment system.

“The lead benefactors, a family from Beaver County, who made this special fund possible believe that it is vitally important for students in Beaver County to continue in their Catholic educational pursuits, and want to be sure that there are no financial barriers to their enrollment at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School”, said Cheryl Karashin, OLSH VP of Advancement.  “They are firm in their commitment to ensuring that the additional resources are offered to Beaver County students in the current school year, as well as for the long term, which will help families with multiple children to form well-informed plans for the future”.

“OLSH has been greatly blessed by our Beaver County students and their families and it has been a blessing to observe the many ways in which these students have blossomed and been transformed by the welcoming, supportive environment at OLSH, and significant academic, extracurricular and athletic opportunities available to them at our school,” said Terry O’Rourke Donoghue, OLSH President.  “We are deeply grateful to the parents of these students, for their commitment to OLSH in spite of the significant distance some of their children travel to and from school each day, as well as for the many ways in which they have helped our school as volunteers and ambassadors.   It means so much to us to be able to relieve some of their stress by offering additional tuition assistance to those who may benefit from it.”

Families who may be eligible to receive this funding in the 2021-2022 school year have been notified about the new Fund. For additional information, please contact Cathy Neubert, Business Manager, at (412) 262-6420 or [email protected].
