Faith

Students are inspired to lives of Christian leadership and service by experiencing faith and values in action every day at OLSH.

Faith and service are central to the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School (OLSH) experience. As a Catholic high school and a ministry of the Felician Sisters, OLSH provides students with daily opportunities to grow in their relationship with Christ through prayer, worship, service, leadership, and community engagement.
Campus Ministry plays an important role in supporting the spiritual life of the OLSH community by creating opportunities for students to deepen their faith and put the Gospel values of Jesus Christ into action. The entire student body, faculty, and staff gather together for weekly all-school Mass celebrated in the OLSH Chapel, a historic and sacred space at the heart of campus. Students also participate in daily prayer, including morning prayer during announcements, the Angelus at noon, and end-of-day prayer.

Throughout the year, students participate in faith formation opportunities including retreats, Eucharistic Adoration, and student-led ministry experiences. Retreat programs such as Chi Rho and MicRho provide students with opportunities for reflection, spiritual growth, leadership development, and strengthening their connection with the OLSH community. Student retreat teams and Campus Ministry leaders help create meaningful faith experiences for their peers.

Service is an essential part of the OLSH mission, encouraging students to live out the Felician Core Values of respect, compassion, transformation, solidarity, and justice. Students participate in service opportunities through Campus Ministry, school-wide service projects, and individual outreach. Annual initiatives include food drives benefiting Our Lady’s Pantry, an on-campus emergency food bank, the Christmas Giving Tree, charitable collections, and other community service efforts.
Through faith, service, and leadership opportunities, OLSH students are encouraged to become compassionate leaders who use their gifts to serve others and make a positive impact in their communities.
