Scholarship opportunites without specific deadlines, or with multiple deadlines:
The College Board has introduced a new scholarship program which has no income, GPA, or SAT score requirements and rewards high school students for taking the necessary steps to plan for college.  The BigFuture Scholarships are now available to Class of 2021 high school students who take college planning steps such as building a college list, practicing for the SAT, completing the FAFSA and applying to colleges.  Students will earn a chance to win scholarships of $500–$2,000 by completing up to six individual college planning steps. The more steps they complete, the more scholarships they are eligible to win. Students who complete all six college planning steps will be eligible to win a $40,000 scholarship!  To learn more about the Opportunity Scholarship program, click here.
Neumann University (PA) is offering a $3,000 per year, renewable Catholic High School Grant to any student who meets their admission criteria and enrolls from a Catholic high school.  Students are considered for this award at the time of application to the university and will be notified after their admittance to Neumann University. Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Foundation distributes scholarships and awards totaling more than $500K annually to our students and universities.  Our scholarships support students at every university in the System.  Each scholarship applicant must complete a PASSHE Foundation general application before accessing the desired scholarship.  Please see the flyer posted below for more information.  Each scholarship title is a hyperlink to the application.  Scholarship academic levels will be labeled. Joieful Connections Scholarship
Eligibility: Any high school senior who has a diagnosis of developmental or intellectual disability may apply for this scholarship, but students in Oregon will be preferred.
Amount: $15,000
Winners: 3 ($5,000 each)

“Equal Opportunity” Scholarship
Nicholas Hamlin Tennis Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:  Any high school junior or senior who plays tennis may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
Amount:  $1,000

Applications are now being accepted for the PA House of Representatives Scholarship Program.  The Program – administered through The Foundation for Enhancing Communities – is for graduating high school seniors who reside in the Commonwealth of PA.  TFEC awards two four-year scholarships to high school seniors each year.  The award consists of the value of one semester of tuition at the State System of Higher Education for each of four years.  Students must maintain eligibility criteria in all four years to receive the ongoing award.  Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrate leadership qualities, a commitment to community, participation in extracurricular activities, and financial need.  To learn more or apply, please go to www.tfec.org.

The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition— financial need is not considered—that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students.  The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education.  The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses.  This award can be used at any college or university in the United States.  In order to apply, students simply fill out a simple online application and write an original Personal Statement of 250 words or less, in response to ONE of the following prompts: 
1. What are your educational goals? or,
2. How will winning this scholarship help you attain your goals?, or
3. Write about a time when "hard work" paid off.

Minority Cosmetic Science Scholarship
  • Eligibility: BIPOC high school and undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they are pursuing a career in natural cosmetology or cosmetic science via majors such as cosmetology, anthropology, botany, chemistry, biochemistry, herbalism, microbiology, and more.

Cody Cochlin Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:  Any low-income undergraduate student who rollerblades, rollerskates, skateboards, or snowboards may apply for this scholarship.
Amount:  $1,275

College-bound high school seniors who live in Allegheny County, have a 3.25 grade point average or above, are involved in their community, and care deeply about the Pittsburgh region are invited to apply to the Landmarks Scholarship Program.  The recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship to use towards tuition and books for his or her first year of undergraduate study.  The scholarship is renewable for three additional years (provided the student remains in good academic standing) for a total award of up to $6,000.  Students who receive Honorable Mention will receive a one-time award of $250.  In order to apply, students must submit a completed application form and essay, a high school transcript, a college acceptance letter, and two letters of recommendation.  An application form is posted below.  To learn more or apply, click here.

RonranGlee Literary Scholarship
Redefining Victory Scholarship
The American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE) will award five $2,000.00 college scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Appalachian Chapter of the AADE is utilizing these scholarships to encourage college bound high school seniors to consider a career in the oil and gas industry. This scholarship is limited to engineering majors (petroleum, chemical, mechanical, environmental, civil) or energy industry related majors.
The scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, financial need, and extenuating circumstances.
Candidates for these scholarships must graduate from high school with a GPA of 3.5 or above; score at least a composite 27 on the ACT, or a minimum 600 in Math and 600 in Critical Reading on the SAT; be accepted and enrolled in an accredited college in Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia; be a citizen of the United States of America; and submit a fully completed and signed AADE Scholarship Application.  The application (attached below) must be received by Josh Doak via email only to [email protected].

Tom LoCasale Developing Character Through Golf Scholarship
Eligibility:  Any high school senior who plays golf may apply for this scholarship.

Dollar Bank will award a $10,000 college scholarship to the high school senior who submits the winning essay in their 2024 Tuition Scholarship Contest.  In order to enter, seniors must first click here to register, then follow the prompt and submit a 1,000-word essay (via email) by the deadline.  A flyer about the contest is posted below.

The School Photographers Association of California (SPAC) will award a college scholarship in the amount of $1,500.00 to one high school senior each of their three regional divisions:  West, Central and East.  The SPAC Young Creatives Scholarship is designed to support and nurture the next generation of creative minds.  Applicants for this scholarship must be current seniors with a demonstrated passion for photography or yearbook who plan to attend a U.S. college in the fall and major in a related field.  In order to apply, seniors must complete an online application (including a short essay) and submit academic details, a portfolio, and two letters of recommendation.  To learn more, click here.  A flyer about the scholarship is posted below.

StudentAwardSearch.com will award $1,000 scholarships to the winners of the B. Davis Scholarship essay contest.  This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution.  To apply, simply write an essay of less than 1,000 words on the following topic:  Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.  Completed essays must be submitted via email to [email protected].  This is not an academic scholarship, but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.  Please do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation at this time.

Graduating seniors who intend to pursue careers in health care are eligible to apply for the Medical Staff Health Care Scholarships from Heritage Valley Health System.  The application process is open to all students in the Heritage Valley Beaver and Heritage Valley Sewickley service areas.  Scholarships (dollar amount unspecified) will be awarded to outstanding students who have financial need and who will hopefully serve in our community upon completion of their training and education.  To be considered, students must complete an online application and attach proof of matriculation or enrollment; tax returns and/or FAFSA information; and a typed essay stating in 500 words or less “Why I Want to Pursue a Career in Health Care.”  To learn more or apply, click here.

Eligibility:  Any high school senior who is a cheerleader and/or stunt athlete who has at least a 2.5 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity.

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants will award $1,000 scholarships to the winners of their annual scholarship essay contest.  Current high school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply.  In order to apply, students must write an essay of 500 to 1,000 words on the following topic:  Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.  Essays must be emailed to [email protected].  When submitting an essay, applicants should provide their full name and mailing address as well as the name of the school they are currently attending.  The winners will be notified within two weeks of the application deadline.  Click here to learn more.
