ALLI Program

Individualized Support for Academic Success

The Advanced Learning & Leadership Initiative

The ALLI program at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School is designed to assist students in becoming competent, independent learners who are able to achieve maximum potential in academic endeavors. The ALLI program works with individual students to achieve success by familiarizing each student with their own learning style and learning strategies, encouraging students through a variety of individually designed activities, and where necessary, developing and reinforcing reading and math skills.

Enrollment in the program is limited in order to ensure that each student receives proper support. To that end, students must meet eligibility requirements, volunteer for participation, and sign an agreement committing to participating fully in the program. Students who may benefit from participation in the ALLI Program are identified based on placement test scores, the student's academic history, and information from the student's previous school.

Students in the ALLI Program are not "pulled out" of regular classes; ALLI class sessions are built into their daily schedule. During these sessions, focused, one-on-one work can take place between the ALLI instructor and the student. Students may be identified for support in Reading, Math, or both subjects. Additional support can be provided by Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) support staff.
