The OLSH Theatre Department was recently awarded a grant of $3,000 from the Pittsburgh CLO’s Gismondi Fund to assist their 2018 musical production efforts.
This is the first year for the Gismondi Fund Grant, which was established by the Gismondi Family Foundation to provide assistance to “schools that face budget restrictions which might hinder their continued participation in the Gene Kelly Awards; the caliber of their musical production; or the quality of their students' experience” (CLO website).
Recipients of the Gismondi Grants are chosen by an independent panel and a representative of the Gismondi Family. The panel also determines the amount of the awards (up to$5,000).
The money that has been awarded to OLSH will help fund the 2018 spring musical, Beauty and the Beast, which will open on Friday, March 2. Additional performances will be held on March 3, 4, 9, & 10. Watch the OLSH website for ticket information.
