OLSH's Chapter of NHS Hosts Annual Induction Ceremony

Last weekend, the OLSH community came together for the annual National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony, welcoming the newest members to the OLSH chapter. Led by NHS Co-Moderator Mr. Wojtechko, the ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of the inductees while highlighting the four pillars of NHS: Leadership, Character, Scholarship, and Service.

Throughout the ceremony, NHS officers reflected on each of the four pillars and what they mean in the lives of NHS members. NHS President Eva Fardo spoke about Leadership, encouraging the newest members to lead through their actions and example. NHS Vice President Francis Igrec reflected on Character, emphasizing the importance of integrity and making choices that reflect strong values. NHS Treasurer Clark Murray-Marcum spoke about Scholarship, highlighting the importance of pursuing academic excellence and continuing to grow as a learner. NHS Secretary Lindsay Bressler addressed Service, reminding inductees of the impact they can make by using their time and talents to help others.

Following the reflections, the newest members were formally inducted into the organization and received their NHS pins, symbolizing their commitment to the four pillars and the responsibilities of NHS membership.

The induction was especially meaningful as part of OLSH’s Mission & Heritage Week, which celebrates the school’s Felician Franciscan heritage and the values that continue to shape the OLSH community. Through their commitment to leadership, character, scholarship, and service, NHS members are called to put those values into action and live out the OLSH mission by using their gifts to serve others and make a difference in their community.

The ceremony was a celebration of the students’ accomplishments and an opportunity to welcome them into an organization rooted in leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
