Chargers Shine with Six Medals, Wasko Wins WPIAL Javelin Title

OLSH athletes rose to the occasion and delivered a standout performance, putting together an impressive day filled with on WPIAL title, podium finishes, school records, and state qualifications.

Owen Wasko led the way with a WPIAL championship in the javelin, winning the event with a school-record throw of 178 feet, 11 inches. Wasko also added a sixth-place finish in the shot put.

Trey Moses added another standout day in the throwing events, placing fourth in both the javelin and discus. His discus mark of 141 feet, 3 inches established a new school record, and his performances qualified him for the state meet in both events, making him a key contributor to OLSH's success..

On the track, the girls 4x800 relay team of Lindsay Bressler, Eva Crofford, Charlotte Gauntner, and Hannah Hayes turned in a state-qualifying performance with a fifth-place finish, adding another medal to the Chargers' total.

Mira Mosca contributed in the distance events with a sixth-place finish in the 3200 meters, showing grit and determination in a competitive field.

Closing out the meet, the girls 4x400 relay team of Lindsay Bressler, Ava Ziemniak, Eva Crofford, and Hannah Hayes placed 10th while posting a season-best time of 4:19.61, missing the podium by just 1.37 seconds.

By the end of the day, OLSH 10 events and medaled in six of them, a remarkable showing that highlighted the depth, talent, and competitive spirit of the team. It was a big day for the Chargers—and one they won't soon forget.
