Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School is pleased to share that Mr. David Thomas has accepted the position of Principal. Mr. Thomas brings with him a wealth of educational leadership experience and a passion for Catholic education. The school community looks forward to welcoming him on campus next week as teachers return, and to greeting students when they arrive later this month.
Mr. Thomas joins OLSH with nearly 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, and school leader. Most recently, he served as the principal of Fred L. Aiken Elementary School in the Keystone Oaks School District, where he led a successful school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS) program, presented at state education conferences, and supported strategic academic and instructional initiatives. Prior to that, he taught fourth grade in the Avonworth School District and also served as the assistant principal at Avonworth’s high school and middle school campus, working alongside secondary educators to support students’ academic growth and well-being.
Mr. Thomas holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh and a Principal Certification from Robert Morris University, where he completed the RMU-LEAD program. His leadership philosophy is firmly rooted in the belief that Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). He strives to foster a collaborative and supportive environment where teachers, students, and families work in partnership to help every student grow academically, socially, and spiritually. He believes that shared leadership, open communication, and a focus on relationships are essential to building a thriving school community. He is excited about the opportunity to be the instructional leader of the team at OLSH.
A proud Catholic school graduate (K–8) and current Catholic school parent, Mr. Thomas has a deep personal connection to the mission of OLSH. His oldest son is currently a student at OLSH, and he has witnessed firsthand the school’s commitment to excellence, faith formation, and student care. He is honored to join the OLSH community and looks forward to continuing its mission of educating and transforming students for lives of Christian leadership, stewardship, and service. Mr. Thomas and his wife Kristin have three children who all attend Catholic school, and they reside in North Fayette, PA.
The OLSH community thanks everyone for their continued prayers and support as the school prepares to start a new year with Mr. Thomas as its new leader.
