OLSH comes out on top at Trivia Night 2023

After the success of the first Trivia Night in 2022, the OLSH Advancement team knew it was an event to keep! Beyond raising needed funds for OLSH Athletics, the event is a great night of friendly competition and fun, bringing together OLSH parents, coaches, faculty, staff, alumni, and other friends of the school. The event raised over $8,000, which will primarily support transportation costs for the school’s sports teams, as well as other athletic department needs.

The trivia competition consisted of 10 rounds of 5 questions each. Guests could purchase up to one mulligan per round to help their team with the trickiest questions. In the end, it came down to a sudden-death question to break a tie. The Rod Squad - Mike & Debbie Rodriguez, Rick '02 & Kelley Romesburg, Larry & Melanie Uziel, Shawn Byers, and Nick Luchini ‘13 were the big winners, generously donating their personal team winnings, as well as designating boys basketball as the team to win an additional $500.

Trivia runners-up, Grey’s Anatomy, took home the prize for best table. The team of current parents included- Eric & Tracey Hansen, Frank & Heather Grisafi, Kevin & Trisha Santelli, and Marty & Gretchen Samchuk. Other table themes included The Kielbasa Posse, The Office, Barbie, Fall Ball, Pitt/Penn State, the O-Zone, Parrotheads, Candyland, and more!

In addition to the trivia, guests could also participate in fun games, like Heads or Tails, Dead or Alive, a duck pond, wine toss, or the gumball machine. Most popular was the basket raffle - featuring 25 amazing baskets put together and donated by the various sports teams.

Thank you to Covenant Financial Advisors for their sponsorship of the event. Thanks also to the Trivia Night Committee: Maureen Bourgeois, Bob Bressler ‘94, Trisha Santelli, Jaime Todd, Dana Schirnhofer, and Kristen Wentling, and the event volunteers!
