Auction for OLSH Raises $70,000 for The OLSH Fund

The Auction for OLSH is always a fun night out for parents, alumni, teachers, and friends. This year’s event was no different. Held at the Doubletree Pittsburgh Airport, nearly 150 people gathered to give back to OLSH by bidding on exciting items, playing games, and trying their luck at raffles. The evening kicked off with a free cocktail hour for attendees, sponsored by the Collier family. After migrating into the ballroom, guests raised their glasses for a champagne toast before enjoying a delicious dinner of chicken bruschetta or salmon with a lime and honey glaze. OLSH student musicians Peter Sweeney '23, Bailey Ye '25, and Sophia Smith '26 provided entertainment during cocktail hour and dinner.

For dessert, guests had the option to bid on cakes from local bakeries in our exciting live Cake Auction! The auctioneers took the floor and got the bidding rolling. Eight cakes were auctioned off, with winning bids ranging from $90 - $420. Winners were given a bag with plates and forks so that they could share their cake with their whole table.

The Cake Auction was a precursor to the Live Auction, in which we auctioned off artwork by Jen Haefeli (a current OLSH parent), a WPXI studio tour, an on-field experience at Highmark Stadium, an Italian-style dinner with Fr. Sam Esposito, and a one-week stay at Coral Beach Club in St. Maarten. Bidders raised their paddles high in a competitive war for these exclusive items.

Throughout the night, guests played games of Heads or Tails and 10-to-1 to win cash prizes, and bought a plethora of raffle tickets to win drop tickets baskets provided by our OLSH families. The DJ closed out the night with a dance party that got everyone out on the floor – even the Sisters!

Congratulations to our Auction winners, and thank you to everyone who helped to make this year a success! The $70,000 raised goes directly toward funding for OLSH student activities, projects, and more.
