National Library Week -
The OLSH Library will hold contests in the library such as a daily book in a jar, a teacher/book contest (a separate email will be sent), and a daily question to answer! Prizes will be awarded! This will all take place in the library on the students' own time.
Hour of Code -
What is the hour of code? The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts!
What does it mean?
- During the hour of code week, the library will be closed to all students in study hall and the senior commons. The library is OPEN to all students who want to participate in the Hour of Code or National Library Week activities.
- All activities will link to the library web page and will change daily.
- You are welcome to participate as well
- Students will receive a participation slip after participation to be entered into a raffle.
There will be prizes!- Daily prize - drawn from those who participate that day
- 2 prizes for specific activities (Dance Party, Poem Art)
- 1 Grand Prize Drawing for anyone who participated during the week!
