PSAT 9 Exam for Freshmen

What
PSAT 9 Exam for Freshmen
When
10/30/2018

Please note that the freshmen will NOT take the PSAT on October 10 due to a clerical error at College Board, the company who provides the test. Freshmen will take the PSAT 9 on Tuesday, October 30. More details on the freshman schedule for this Wednesday can be found below.

The PSAT is not only a practice exam for the SAT, it is also the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship. The honor of being named a National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist/Finalist carries significant weight with many colleges and universities and can, in some cases, result in scholarship money.

We ask that you discuss the importance of this test with your children and encourage them to be prepared by getting a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast the day of the test.

Please also remind your children to come to the test prepared with the following:
at least 2 No. 2 pencils with good erasers (mechanical pencils are not permitted)
a calculator (graphing and scientific calculators are permitted; a four-function calculator is permitted but not recommended)

If your child does not have an approved calculator, please contact School Counselor Mrs. Regina Woynar ASAP at [email protected]. Students will NOT be permitted to share calculators.

Please also remind students that they may NOT bring the following to the test:
anything that can connect to the internet
anything that makes noise or "talks"
calculators needing an electrical outlet
calculators with QWERTY keypads
