Assembly: Juniors & Seniors Assembly on Dating Violence in Auditorium

Dear OLSH Parent/Guardian,

In an effort to help bring an awareness of the issues surrounding dating violence and help protect our students, the Counseling Center has arranged for a speaker to address the juniors and seniors.

On Wednesday, January 31, Evelyn Charles, the Volunteer Coordinator and Prevention Educator from Crisis Center North, will be coming to speak with iuniors and seniors during the Advisor Session. The students will receive information on the following topics with regard to dating Vviolence:

• Crisis Center North Services
• Prevalence of dating violence for teenagers/young adults
• Defining dating violence
• Social media & cyberbullying/use in dating violence
• How to get help/help a friend
• What a healthy relationships look like

 
Crisis Center North is currently developing a campaign for parents designed to encourage conversations with their children about healthy relationships, and how to recognize and respond to possible signs of dating violence.
