Course Description

This course stresses the mathematical and conceptual development of classic Newtonian physics. Topics include linear motion, Newton’s laws, energy, momentum, rotational and circular motion, and the Universal Law of Gravitation. Mathematical problem solving, including algebraic manipulation, systems of equations, trigonometric functions, and graphical analysis are used extensively. Laboratory exercises are included to enhance the development of concepts and data analysis techniques. This class meets daily all year long with a double period every other day.
