I would like to introduce myself to students and parents of the OLSH community. My name is Mr. Joyce and I will be your Social Studies teacher this upcoming school year. This is my third year as a member of the OLSH family, and I truly can't wait to get to know each and every one of you as we begin the school year! 

 

I was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, and went to Thomas Jefferson (TJ) High School. I graduated from Penn State University in 2010 with a degree in Sports Journalism, and after a few years working a few different jobs, I decided to go back to school for my teaching certificate. I graduated from Robert Morris in 2017 with my certificate in Secondary Social Studies as well as my Master's in Instructional Leadership.

 

This year, I will be teaching AP U.S. History, World History, and Honors Psychology/Sociology. I will be using Google Classroom pages to share assignments, post messages, and communicate future important dates. Both students and parents alike are heavily encouraged to subscribe to their particular class page!

 

Finally, I am extremely blessed to have the opportunity to be a member of the OLSH family. I am looking forward to having a fun and exciting year in and out of the classroom!
