Attached here are the instructions and rubric for our final project. We will be using Google Earth to make the presentation, and I have posted a few key video tutorials below that will help you get started. I also posted an example project that I created.

Today, we´ll do an activity to learn what the future has in store for us.


Attached here is the sheet for the activity. If you are online today or if you are absent, here are the instructions for the activity: 


1. On the 6 lines at the top of the page, write 6 detailed sentences about what is going to happen in your life in the future using "Voy a..." and the infinitive. I have attached here a list of suggested infinitives you could use. Please use a different infinitive in each sentence. Your sentences may be silly or serious. You may use www.wordreference.com to look up a few words if needed (no translators!). 


2. In the box at the bottom, draw a picture of what your future will look like based on the sentences you wrote. Make sure something from all 6 sentences is represented. You may use some words in Spanish to label items in your picture. If you need to draw it on a separate piece of paper and then attach your drawing separately, that is fine.


3. Submit the Google Doc here.

1. Open both the document and the wheel decider attached here. 
2. Spin the wheel. Whatever the wheel lands on, fill it in in the "¿Quién? (who?)" box. 
3. Fill in the correct form of the verb ir to match the person in the "Forma del verbo ir (Form of the verb ir)" box. 
4. Fill in the remaining boxes with information about to where (use a place), with whom (use a person), when (use a time in the present or future, not past), and why (use a verb in the infinitive - examples: leer, estudiar, correr, escuchar música, etc.)
5. Illustrate your sentence in the bottom box to show the person going to the place, etc. 
6. Repeat this process for the other three sets of boxes.

Today, we´ll do some listening and speaking to practice with describing location of buildings in a city.

1. Print out the first page of the "Copia mi ciudad" document attached here. If you are not able to print it, you will need to sketch the streets/stadium on a piece of paper. 
2. Draw 5 additional buildings somewhere in the city scene. You may choose the types of buildings you would like to draw. Clearly label them. 
3. Write 1-2 sentences in Spanish to describe the location of each of the 5 places. Use estar in each sentence, and make sure to include at least two details about the location (for example, what it is close to and to the right of, or what street it is on and what it is in front of). Similar to what you did on your homework.

HOMEWORK: Perfiles de deportistas

Choose some athletes that you like or admire, and make a copy of the attached template here to create profiles for them. Each slide will contain the following information:
1. Athlete´s name
2. The name of the sport they play
3. The name of their team (if applicable)
4. The place they play (court, field, etc. You may also give the name of the specific stadium if you like)
5. The equipment they need to play their sport

You may choose to play around with the color scheme/images and change it if you would like to make it match the person´s team/national colors.

You must make at least 3 PROFILES and use at least 12 DIFFERENT VOCAB WORDS from your list. That means that if you have not used 12 vocab words in 3 profiles, you will need to make additional profiles until you have 12 words total.

I attached an example here using Roberto Clemente (sorry, he is taken and may not be used for your slides :( ), so look at the example for some additional guidance.

Because the final exam for Spanish is cumulative (meaning that it covers material from the entire year) and because we did not have a midterm exam, we are going to take some time to review some of the most important concepts from semester one.

I have attached here a modified version of what I usually give out as a Midterm Study Guide. We will review this in class together on Wednesday, 2/17. ALL STUDENTS, submit a digital copy or photos of a hard copy of the review guide ONLY by class time on that date.

This is also a good time to take stock and make sure you have all of the important notes you need. For your reference, I have also attached copies here of all of the notes you should have from semester 1. If you are missing any of these notes, you will need to redo them. Contact me if you have trouble with this.

I highly recommend that you have physical copies of all of your notes. If you do not have a printer at home, you can print them in the library at school or ask me to print things out for you. If you need to have digital notes, I recommend that you organize them by saving them to a Spanish Notes folder in your Google Drive so that you can find them easily without going back through old assignments in Classroom.

Please print out the blank map here to complete this assignment. If you do not have access to a printer, please view the numbered map and number a page in your notebook to complete the assignment.

1. Using one color of pen or pencil, fill in all of the countries and capitals on the map that you know WITHOUT looking at your notes.
2. Then, switch to another color of pen/pencil, and use your notes to fill in any remaining countries and capitals. Highlight or put a star next to any that you got wrong when you first filled the map in.
3. Take a photo of your work and submit it here.

Use the "Capitales del Mundo Hispano" map to complete the observation activity attached. Instructions for what to do are listed in the document. Read and follow them carefully. You will watch some videos, but the audio is not necessary, so you can just watch them on mute. If you are home and want to include the audio, that's fine too.

One part will ask you to take a screenshot. If you do not know how to take a screenshot, please Google how to do it on your computer (on Macs, you hold down Command + Shift +4. On PCs, I recommend going to applicatios and using the Snipping tool. Other than that, please search for how to do it). Please do NOT take a photo of your computer screen with your phone.

Even if you are not completely finished, please turn in whatever you have done at the end of the class period.

Today, we will discuss why we should care about culture and how we will be approaching culture this year in class.

Unfortunately, you can´t type directly into the document, so you will either need to print it out or draw it on a piece of paper (it does not have to be a work of art). Then, submit a picture of your completed graphic organizer here as evidence of your classwork.

If you are absent, a video will be posted later today with a recording of class. In addition to completing the graphic organizer, you need to get the notes and respond to the questions (you may write in your notebook and submit a photo or type in a Google Doc):
