I gave you 3 LEQ questions to choose from, choose 1 you feel you are weak on.  Remember when you begin your LEQ you need:
1. Thesis
2. Contextualization (before or after)
3. Rule of 3 for whatever the question is (3 similarities, 3 continuities, etc)
4. Go back to #3 and you must explain and give as many examples as you can for evidence points
5. You must either make a connection or do the opposite of the question (for example if the question asked for similarities, give differences - as many as you can)
6. end with a thesis

Below is a link to a new on-line AMSCO text. We will receive the books sometime in September. Please read the Prologue: I would like it read by September 3rd. You can take notes on the information in your notebook if you wish. This is extremely important background information you will need for this class. Most important are the religions and early civilizations.

As you are reading Chapter 6 in the Stearns textbook, please read only unit 1.3 in the AMSCO on-line text from above. This learning objective relates to Chapter 6. As you are reading AMSCO, you can take notes on your study guide that helps answer the question.
I can not stress enough how important it is to read both the textbook and the above AMSCO on-line book. The on-line book is a better fit to the new Modern course. Hopefully I will receive the books soon from the publisher.

AP World History Summer Assignment for 2019-2020 students.
 
School Supplies:
 
AP World will need at least one large 3 ring binder - you will be receiving too many papers from me in which you must keep all year. (you decide if you want one large binder or 2 -3 smaller ones) Trust me it will be a lot of papers
 
A one subject notebook is needed for the beginning of the year
Make sure you bring your summer assignment in a plastic (not paper) folder with your name on it in sharpie. This will stay in the room all year and house your tests/quizzes
 
 
Summer Assignment:
 
1. Below you will find the 3 chapters to our Stearn's textbook you need to complete the chapter reading questions. You can print these or just read them online.   Only use the Stearn's textbook to complete the chapter questions. For the PIRATE charts of the chapter outline you can use any other resource to help you complete. I have many Power Points below that can help
 
2. You have the AMSCO book to help you and to complete the religion/dynasties/Roman Empire/Han/Mauryan/PIRATE chart  portion of the summer assignment. You can also use any other reliable internet resource to complete this portion. I included many Power Points below that can help. I highly suggest you read Period 1 pages 1-39. This will give you a great introduction of the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Agricultural Revolution and beginnings of civilization.
 
3. This summer assignment is to give you background knowledge required to begin the class. You will be tested on it throughout the year. Please email me with any questions.
 
4. Page 56=57 of chapter 3 is attached separately. For some reason it was not included in the chapter
