Fondest memory of OLSH: Although my fondest memory of OLSH is winning back to back WPIAL championships for basketball, the best memories were also made every day in class, in the hallways, in the commons, at practice, during games, and anywhere we were just spending time with each other.

Plans after graduation: Next year I plan on going to the University of Dayton.

What legacy would you like to leave: I want to leave the legacy of winning championships, and having a good time with a smile on my face every day.

Why OLSH? OLSH has been home to me for the past 4 years, but home to my family for the past 10. OLSH offers more than just a high school education, it offers a family like atmosphere. The teachers and administrators really care about you and your future and get to know you on an individual level and classes are the perfect size. It has the best campus that I have ever seen for the size of the school including all of the technology that is available, the athletic equipment and facilities, and most importantly amazing views every day.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH was going to the football games my junior year with my new friends.  I was brand new to the school my Junior year and the football games really helped me get to know people.

Plans after graduation: Next year I plan to defer my enrollment to the University of Cincinnati to take a gap year with a program called ‘Immersion’.  I will be traveling to Costa Rica, Namibia, Lesotho, and South Africa.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to leave OLSH by telling the underclassmen that you should never let anyone else control or determine your own happiness.  Once you can be happy on your own, no one will ever be able to drag you down.

Why OLSH? I think students should appreciate what the school values and the Catholic faith that OLSH emphasizes.  They may not realize it now, but having a good faith and relationship with God can be a tremendous life saver while in high school.

Fondest memory of OLSH: I have so many to choose from, but the more I think about it I would have to say basketball open gyms during the summer of my freshman year because that’s when I met some of my closest friends today and it was the start of some really wonderful friendships.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to Carlow University to major in Psychology: Crisis and Trauma with a minor in Sociology.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to leave a legacy behind at OLSH that you can concentrate on school work and also have as much fun that you possibly can while you’re there. I want to be remembered as the guy that could make anyone laugh and who made sure no one was having a bad day, very outgoing and friendly, but also someone that got their work done and participated in the OLSH community.

Why OLSH? Ever since I toured OLSH in my 7th grade year, I knew this is where I wanted to be. OLSH is so unique compared to every high school. The community really comes together and by senior year everyone really feels like family. All of the faculty and staff really care about you and go out of their way to have a personal relationship with you and really get to know who you are as a person. No one at OLSH treats you like a number, they truly want what's best for you and they’ll do anything to help you achieve that. That’s why I chose OLSH and that’s why when I graduate I’ll be proud to have called OLSH my home for the past four years.

Fondest memory of OLSH: The OLSH vs. Quigley soccer game my junior year because we were able to come back from losing in the second half and we got featured in the newspaper.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to Pitt and am undecided on a major but I know I would like to go to law school.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to leave a legacy where people would remember me for what I did, whether it was school work, sports, or other extracurriculars.

Why OLSH? People should consider OLSH because you get an opportunity to form friendships and bonds with people that you will remember for the rest of your life. Whether it’s inside or outside of school, through the good and bad, you will remember OLSH for the experiences it gives you and in the end feel good about those experiences.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is going to play at the football games with the rest of the band. We would always hang out before the game and ride the band bus over.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to Bradley to study Computer Science

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to leave a legacy of excellence. I have worked hard at my schoolwork and activities, and have tried to be a good friend to those who I have been around these four years.

Why OLSH? I chose OLSH because it has challenging academics, because the diploma from OLSH means more to certain colleges, especially if you take more challenging classes. The time management skills learned at OLSH have helped me go from extremely-forgetful to put-together. Religion woven through the curriculum has left me better purpose to live out my life as a Catholic Adult.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My favorite memory from OLSH is probably doing cheerleading because I was friends with everyone on the team and I enjoyed going to all the games.

Plans after graduation: I'm either going to University of Kentucky or Louisiana State University. I plan on studying nursing and then continuing my education to become a nurse practitioner.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy I want to leave is that even after I leave, all the friends I have made can count on me as someone they can talk to and be there to help.

Why OLSH? I went to OLSH because my sister went there and I live not even a minute away from the school. I believe OLSH is different from other schools because you get to know each and every person and teacher there. Most people you get to know on a first name basis so you will always be able to see at least one person you know in every class.

Joey Rozman '20JOEY ROZMAN '20

Fondest memory of OLSH: All of the times in Calc class when we would have deep conversations or just be goofing off.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to college and major in computer science.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to be remembered as a good, nice person who was hard-working but also knew how to have fun.

Why OLSH? OLSH does prepare students for college with its more demanding grading scale and classes, and with the smaller class size, it brings everyone who goes here closer.

Fondest memory of OLSH: One of my favorite memories definitely has to be junior year prom.  Everything about this day was above and beyond my expectations.  Every single person that attended was just so happy and excited on the day of; there was never a dull moment being surrounded by amazing friends. And helping plan prom, actually seeing it all come together just made the night a thousand times better.

Plans after graduation: Next year I plan to attend La Roche University to study Child and Family Studies along with Spanish in hopes to become a Certified Child Life Specialist.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want people to know the importance of trying to be optimistic.  No matter the situation you are going through, if there is a smile on your face, it will be just a little bit easier to get through.  Everything happens for a reason you just have to look to the bright side of things to find in order to find it.  You would be surprised how impactful on others a smiling face can be.

Why OLSH? To put it simply, OLSH is a family.  This is a school where you will become a part of a family apart from your relatives.  The teachers, students, faculty, etc. have such a bond it is unlike anything I have heard or seen before.  I know if I have even the slightest problem there are people I can lean on from OLSH.  That is not something you will find at many schools, that makes OLSH extremely special.

Matt Rees '20MATTHEW REES ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory at OLSH is most likely quitting basketball then rejoining the team and rebounding the way I did. I am extremely proud of myself for overcoming the things I was dealing with and coming back to help the team.

Plans after graduation: Currently, I am still looking at a few schools, but it appears as of right now that I’ll be attending Duquesne University in the fall. I plan on studying business.

What legacy would you like to leave? I have said this repeatedly, but I hope that I influenced at least one person in a positive way so that they can influence others positively, as well.

Why OLSH? The greatest part of the school is the family atmosphere. I’m sure it sounds cliché, but it is very true. Everywhere you go throughout the school, there are always people there that truly care about your well-being, students and faculty alike.

Abby Ciaramella '20ABBY CIARAMELLA ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My favorite memories aren’t ones I can really put my finger on.  My favorite moments are getting to know and interact with my awesome classmates and the rest of the OLSH community.

Plans after graduation: I will be majoring in Public Health at The Ohio State University

What legacy would you like to leave? If I could leave a legacy, it would be to be kind to everyone around you because you have no idea what people are going through. One small “Hi” or walking to class with someone can gain you a lifelong friend.

Why OLSH? I think it’s important to grow as a person, not just academic ability, and OLSH has really done that for me and my classmates. OLSH nurtures the soul and mind, so that everyone who walks through those halls comes out with a great faith life, and they are prepared for wherever their next journey takes them.

MessnerABBY MESSNER ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory at OLSH has been doing the musicals, specifically this year, during tech week. I knew that senior year musical would be one to remember. These two tech weeks have allowed me to strengthen my friendships and create memories that I will always remember. I truly have enjoyed my time in the musicals and it has allowed me to share my love of theater with my friends.

Plans after graduation: After graduation, I plan to go to college (still deciding on a college) to study Early Childhood Education.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy I want to leave is to always be yourself without the fear of being judged by others. I have enjoyed high school so much more just by being 100% authentic with others. Another legacy I want to leave is to be a light to others, even if it is just saying “hi” in the hallway or complimenting them, it will likely make their day better.

Why OLSH? OLSH has not only provided me with an amazing education, but it has allowed me to create great friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime. At OLSH, the students and teachers really care about you and it really feels like we are all family.

Cole Moorman '20COLE MOORMAN ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is when everybody made me get well soon cards and birthday cards when I was really sick. It made me feel so supported and helped me keep my head high.

Plans after graduation: I’m not sure yet because I’ve been sick, but I know everything will work out even if I’m a step behind.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like my legacy to be happiness. I want to be remembered for always being in a good mood and putting a smile on people’s faces, even when I was having a rough day.

Why OLSH? Personally, I chose OLSH because I didn’t like it very much at public school. OLSH gave me a better education. I feel like the difference between OLSH and public schools is how many students there are in public schools. That can cause the teachers to not have time for every student. At OLSH I can get help whenever I need it.

Krulac '20LARISSA KRULAC ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is going on the mission trips. I was able to create many amazing memories with new people and old friends. It also helped me strengthen my faith and love for God.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to be remembered as someone who is friendly, and looks out for others when they’re in need. I would like people to think of me as someone who is always ready to help and take on a challenge.

Why OLSH? OLSH is a place where you can make amazing memories with new friends. Others should consider OLSH because of the amazing education we receive and the opportunities given to us.  The underclassmen should appreciate OLSH’s education because not everyone has the opportunity to receive the same level of education we have. OLSH gives students the chance to take AP and honors classes unlike other schools. We are also able to take many different courses in the arts, languages and core classes.

Fabiano '20PETER FABIANO ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is definitely getting to see Mrs. Steuernagel and Mrs. Turnbull every morning. No matter what kind of mood I was in they would always make me smile.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to be remembered as a leader that had a sense of humor.

Why OLSH? As soon as I stepped into OLSH, I immediately felt comfortable and felt like I was a part of something that was bigger than just a high school. OLSH is truly a family environment. This was just another thing that made me impressed with the school. Not just everyone can go to OLSH, which is something all underclassmen should be proud to be a part of. Just being able to attend OLSH was truly a blessing.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want people to show others respect no matter who they are or where they come from.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH was winning Section Champs (with girls’ soccer) my freshman year with my sister when she was a senior.

Plans after graduation: I plan on attending Slippery Rock or La Roche and playing soccer for La Roche while majoring in Interior Design.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to be known as a leader and not a follower. I want people to think of me as the girl who isn't afraid of being herself and being honest and I always try putting smiles on people’s faces.

Why OLSH? People should consider OLSH because unlike a lot of schools, OLSH looks out for you and doesn’t just think of you as another student. They care for their students like individuals and not just as a whole. OLSH also brings you great and strong friendships that you cannot replace.

Zilner '20LAUREN ZILNER ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: The best memories from OLSH are the mission trips to Frenchville. I have learned so much from them, and I am thankful for the time I have spent there. I encourage all students to step out of their comfort zone and attend something as life changing as this.

Plans after graduation: I plan to attend Edinboro University in the fall to study early childhood education.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to be remembered as having leadership by inspiring other students. I would like to bring positivity to others.

Why OLSH? OLSH is a place to grow- to grow mentally and spiritually. The underclassmen should appreciate their time that they still have at OLSH. I wish I had done that before knowing it would get cut short.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My favorite memory at OLSH is nothing big. It is being able to wake up every day and see the people who have made such an impact on my life. Being able to see my friends who became my family every day is a privilege that I took for granted.

Plans after graduation: I am currently deciding between Robert Morris University and Waynesburg University. After graduation, I am going to school to study Psychology.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy I want to leave at OLSH is to be remembered as a person who is always happy; someone who always has a smile on her face.

Why OLSH? I chose OLSH because that’s where my brother decided to go and he had always told me good things about the school. He helped me make my decision without even knowing it. I would tell others to consider OLSH because of the family like atmosphere. Being able to go to a school where you are welcomed everyday gives you, as a student, a sense of wanting to try your best. Underclassmen should appreciate their education because there are not many schools that truly and completely prepare you for the next step in your life. I feel that OLSH has prepared me for my future and for the adventures to come.

Plans after graduation: I plan to attend either Pitt Greensburg or Slippery Rock.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy I want to leave is that I was a really nice person who was always there for others and wanted to help them figure out their problems.

Why OLSH? I chose OLSH because I knew people and wanted to go somewhere with friends, but I got much more. Others should go to OLSH because there are so many great people, teachers, and programs. Glance '20BRENNA GLANCE ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is the spring musical opening performance of Seussical. This night is one of my favorite memories at OLSH because the whole cast was really excited and we worked so hard for months in advance. Theater allowed me to form the best friendships with others and I am very grateful for that.

Plans after graduation: After graduation, I will be going to the University of Dayton majoring in Discover Business/Data Analytics.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy that I would like to leave at OLSH is challenging yourself to always try harder and do more. If you want something, go for it!

Why OLSH? OLSH has been such an important part of my life. I would encourage others to choose OLSH because it provides every student with a great education and a loving community to support them. The opportunity to go to OLSH has blessed me with so many other opportunities that I am extremely thankful for.

Howard '20ALEXIA HOWARD ‘20

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory at OLSH would have to be softball because my team is more like a family than anything.  We’re sisters, we all laugh with each other and have the strongest bond on and off the field.

Plans after graduation: Next year I will be attending Waynesburg University to study criminal justice and continue playing softball.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to leave positivity because no matter what kind of situation was thrown at me, I always tried to stay positive and not let it get the best of me and tear me down.

Why OLSH? I chose OLSH because my public school wasn't the best of schools.  At OLSH I was given a better education and had a bigger opportunity with softball.  Other students should consider OLSH because of the class options and the education.  Underclassmen should appreciate this opportunity to receive this education because it helps prepare you for college.  Everything from being in the classroom and the extracurricular activities that are available.  Every teacher does their best to help you inside and outside the classroom.  These four years are some of the best years of your life.  So enjoy every bit of it while you can!

Why OLSH? OLSH is a great school for learning and getting the best possible education while also keeping a healthy religious life in the mix of all the new opportunities that will come up in time over 4 years, such as sports like football, basketball, and bowling or activities like the musical.

Plans after graduation: I am planning on going to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio to major in Aviation Flight.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to leave a legacy of someone who was able to balance school with extracurriculars and work.

Why OLSH? I picked OLSH because when I shadowed as an eighth grader, I knew it was the place for me. When I actually started attending, it was perfect.  OLSH has a lot to offer for such a small school, which is why it is a great school because the size is perfect and there are a lot of opportunities for academics, athletics, and the arts.

Why OLSH? I picked OLSH because it is a great school. Others should consider OLSH because it brings you closer to your faith and you get the chance to meet new people around the area. Underclassmen should appreciate the opportunity to receive an education at OLSH because there are a lot of people that do not get the opportunity to seek such an education, and to grow in their faith.

Fondest memory of OLSH: All the band and chorus concerts because they let me express what I love to do, and showed me what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Plans after graduation: I have not yet decided on a college, but I plan to study music education.

What legacy would you like to leave? I want to be remembered as someone that put their time and effort back into the school.

Why OLSH? OLSH is a family community and is very welcoming. The teachers make it their priority to make sure each of their students understands what they are learning. The rest of the faculty are very easy to talk to, and want to be able to help you make your high school experience one of the best.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memory of OLSH is all of the teachers being so kind and like a family for me. They really helped me grow in my faith and I’m so thankful.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to Waynesburg University to study nursing.

What legacy would you like to leave? The legacy I would like to leave behind is that I was a hard worker with a friendly personality.

Why OLSH? OLSH is a wonderful experience that many can recognize when they walk through the door. I believe once you walk through the door, you realize that it truly is a family here.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My senior year in musical is my fondest memory of OLSH. I became so close with so many new people and there's such a strong bond in all those who get to put on the show. It also made me so much closer with my sister, and driving her to and from practice really helped me appreciate having siblings.

Plans after graduation: I am planning on attending Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I will be studying Marine Biology.

What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to be remembered for my kindness and uplifting spirit at OLSH. Kindness is such an important gift to give to others. I've realized that no matter who a person may be, if you give them a smile it can make them feel accepted and comforted.

Why OLSH? Looking back at my four years at OLSH, I see how the Felician Core Value of transformation has worked in me, and in so many others. The person you are before you enter will not be the same when you leave, you will have a stronger faith, and a strong family you know you can rely on. The teachers truly get to know you on a personal level, and they care about each of their students. I'm excited to see how OLSH will shape my younger sister, and all those who experience the amazing community OLSH truly is.

Fondest memory of OLSH: My fondest memories of OLSH came from spending time and competing with all of my teammates (XC, basketball, track). WE were all one big family! I also had such a great time at Prom my junior year and the Chi Rho Retreat. I connected and reconnected with so many friends.

Plans after graduation: I will be attending Duquesne University’s Physician Assistant Program. I will also be running for Duquesne’s cross country and track team.

What legacy would you like to leave? Leaving a legacy of faith and hard work is important to me. A motto I always live by is “do your best and let God take care of the rest.” From my time at OLSH, I hope I have exemplified giving my 100% effort in everything, whether it be academics, athletics, or relationships with my friends and God. It is also important to trust in God and to allow Him to guide us in the right direction in life.

Why OLSH? OLSH is a family. Not only because it is a smaller school and you get to know pretty much everyone, but the values I’ve learned from my teachers in class and my fellow classmates have helped shape me into the person I am today. Before coming to OLSH, I did not have a specific “purpose.” But after going to OLSH for four years, I have found that my purpose is to seed the Truth and to mirror God through my actions and my words. OLSH has helped me develop a strong spiritual life which was something I never really knew I needed. I am extremely grateful for being given the opportunity to go to a Catholic school, especially one like Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School.

Fondest memory of OLSH: Being in the theatre department. It was always what I looked forward to at the end of the day, no matter what show we were doing. It’s where I found my closest friends, too! I always loved doing the musicals, and at every practice I would put everything I had into them. If I had to choose which season was my favorite, I would have to say this year’s (with the 39 Steps, our student-made Santa of the Opera, our running in the Bloomsburg PHSSL competition, and, of course, Seussical!) Not being able to do the rest of our Seussical productions has been harsh, but then I think about the other kids who weren’t even able to put on their shows due to COVID-19. I have to say they were hit harder than us and they must be acknowledged for their talent and productivity.

Plans after graduation: I plan to study Voice and Opera at the Cleveland Institute of Music this Fall. I love Classical music and opera with a passion. I want to live and create my career in music.

What legacy would you like to leave? A virtuous one. I want future young men and women to not be afraid of doing the right thing and living out a Christian life. Our world needs Saints and that will happen through God’s Grace and the examples He shows. I hope that my legacy will bring people closer to God and bring others to God and social solidarity.

Why OLSH? I went because my friends were going there and it was a Catholic High School in a close distance, but my reasoning to choose OLSH has gotten deeper than that. At OLSH underclassmen can thrive and become leaders; they learn how to become resilient and excellent through caring teachers and amazing friends. In addition, many students have found wonderful college connections through OLSH. Without a doubt, new underclassmen need to choose this school because there are so many academic, extracurricular, and faith-based activities that allow personal growth.

Fondest memory of OLSH: Competing on the Cross Country, Basketball, and Track & Field teams over the past four years have given me the greatest memories with some of my closest friends. Particularly at one Track meet there was a dance off (there’s a video somewhere).

Plans after graduation: I will be attending Duquesne University next year. I plan on majoring in physics, with the intent of law school following my undergrad degree.

What legacy would you like to leave? I hope to leave a legacy that positively impacts OLSH in many ways. I have put energy, effort, and enthusiasm into my academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, and hope that I have been a good role model for the underclassmen. I would like to be remembered as someone willing to go the extra mile for others who need a hand.

Why OLSH? OLSH has provided me with the opportunity to experience so many new things, and become a well rounded individual. With the smaller size, I’ve gotten to build great relationships with teachers and my fellow classmates. The family atmosphere here really makes OLSH a home away from home, and being able to practice my faith here is such a blessing.
