Celebrating the Class of 2020

During this unprecedented time in our history, we recognize the OLSH Class of 2020 in a special way!

Honors Convocation
Seniors receiving academic awards will be recognized during a virtual Honors Convocation ceremony on Monday, May 18 at 7:00 pm. The event will premiere on OLSH's YouTube Channel and award announcements will be live tweeted throughout the ceremony. The video will be available and posted here for viewing after the premiere.
Celebrating Seniors
On May 20, what was to be the OLSH seniors last day at OLSH, families are asked to decorate their front door and lawn and share photos with Mrs. Regina Woynar at rowynar@olsh.org for a video compilation.
Senior Drive Through
On My 26, seniors will be invited to campus to pick up their caps and gowns and to drive through campus for a special salute! Seniors will be asked to stay in their vehicles while driving through campus to ensure social distancing guidelines are still met.
Due to our responsibilities with regard to social distancing we have decided to postpone the Class of 2020 Commencement originally scheduled for Sunday, May 31. Ideally, we would like to have the ceremony in June. However, we also know that it may not be possible to have the event until later in the summer. For that reason we have selected two dates, with the second as a "backup" date:
Sunday, June 28
Friday, July 31 (backup date)
While we are hopeful that the Class of 2020 Commencement will be held at the Angela Activities Center, we are looking into alternative sites to host the event for two reasons: (1) to accommodate social distancing relative to students, faculty and staff and (2) to safely accommodate as many guests as possible.
In the event that an in-person commencement ceremony with students, parents, and faculty in attendance cannot take place, a virtual commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 2.
Baccalaureate Mass
The Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2020 is also postponed. We will continue to follow the guidelines and directives from the Diocese of Pittsburgh regarding the celebration of Mass. We will provide additional information regarding a Baccalaureate Mass to our families as it becomes available.
