Service

Service is central to our Christian responsibility of following the Gospel mandate: "Whatever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me." In doing so, students are carrying out the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
In keeping with the core values of the Felician Sisters, all OLSH students are encouraged to volunteer and put their faith into action. Volunteering is a fantastic way to learn about yourself, your skills, and your gifts. We believe that volunteering helps create caring, compassionate, well-rounded students who understand the impact of giving of oneself without material gain.
In May, during the Honors Convocation ceremony, yearly service recognition awards are presented. These awards include:
- 75-100.99 service hours - Bronze Award
- 101- 150.99 service hours - Silver Award
- 151-250.99 service hours - Gold Award
- 251 or more service hours - Platinum Award
