Annual Christmas Play
Every year Our Lady of the Sacred Heart students perform a Christmas play. The play is an original or an adaptation written and directed by Mr. Bob Brasko and his assistant, Mr. Mike Leon. Mike is an OLSH alum who has helped produce the show for the last four years and is currently serving in the US Air Force.
The Christmas play offers all students interested in participating a part, with the main roles usually reserved for upperclassman. Auditions take place during the first two weeks of November and rehearsals are held after school on Mondays and Thursdays. There are two dress rehearsals and two performances on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before Christmas break.
The Christmas play has become a time-honored tradition at OLSH. Typically 75 – 100 students are involved in its production. Mr. Brasko was very pleased when the Middle States Accreditation Committee mentioned the Christmas play favorably during its report to the entire school referring to the play as: "….a cast of thousands…."
