OLSH Boys Basketball Takes 2nd in WPIAL Championships
The Chargers played well against section rival Sewickley Academy in the WPIAL championships.
Congratulations to the OLSH Boys Basketball team who finished second in classification 2A after a tough game against section rival Sewickley Academy on Friday. The Chargers kept the score close, with the two teams tied at 33 at the half, but Sewickley Academy prevailed with a final score of 71-60. High scorers for the Chargers included Austin Wigley with 20 points and Ethan Harrell with 18 points. The Chargers beat number one seeded Greensburg Central Catholic to make the final. This was OLSH's first appearance in the boys basketball WPIAL Championships since 1999. The boys will go on to play in the PIAA championships. The first round game will be vs. Cambridge Springs at Peters Township High School in McMurray on Saturday, March 11 at 3:00 pm.

Other Charger teams have found success this season. The girls basketball team made an impressive playoff run, despite being a young team with no seniors. They will continue on to the PIAA tournament on Friday, March 10 at 6:00 pm when they take on Reynolds at Farrell High School. The OLSH Hockey Team will play Ringgold in the first round of the PIHL Division 2 Playoffs on Thursday, March 9 at 8:45 pm at the RMU Island Sports Arena. Luke Rattay '17 and Adilia Schmidt '20 qualified for the Western PA Regional Championships in the Singles event held at Princess Lanes on Friday, March 10. And Joey Rozman '20 represented OLSH on the OLSH-Cornell swim team in the 200 medley relay for WPIAL championships last week. Click here for the latest details on the Chargers in the playoffs.
