Transportation

An OLSH student exits her school bus in the morningOLSH welcomes students from over 30 area school districts.

OLSH is easily accessible via routes 79, 376, and 65 and generally draws students from Allegheny, Beaver, and Washington counties. Many students come from public school districts that provide busing to OLSH, many others car pool with nearby families. Students with a license are welcome to drive to school and can purchase a parking permit at the beginning of each school year.

Busing Districts

Busing is provided by the student's home school district if the district boundary is no more than 10 miles from OLSH (according to PA Act 372). The district may provide a separate bus for OLSH students within the district or they may bus the students to a district school where they will access a transfer bus.

The following public school districts currently provide bus transportation to OLSH:

  • Aliquippa
  • Ambridge
  • Avonworth
  • Carlynton
  • Chartiers Valley
  • Cornell

Please contact your district's Transportation Department with specific questions.

ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION

Contract Bus

OLSH provides contracted bussing for students who reside in Beaver County and non-bussing South Hills school districts. Please contact the OLSH Admissions Office for specific information regarding these options if you reside in a school district that does not provide bussing to OLSH.

Carpooling

Many OLSH families who reside outside of the bussing districts make arrangements to carpool. Current parent-coordinated carpools include North Area (Seneca Valley/Mars/Pine Richland) and Northgate. For information on carpooling availability in your area, contact the OLSH Admissions Office.

Student Drivers

Students who are licensed drivers may purchase a parking permit at the beginning of each school year.
