Ways to Make a Gift

There are many different ways you can make a gift to OLSH. The following list shows the most common ways to donate, but we would certainly be happy to discuss other options.

Cash Gifts

Cash gift can be a one-time gift, or pledged over a certain amount of time.

Credit Card

OLSH now accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card (online only) to make one-time gifts or recurring pledge payments.

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Assets

There is a possibility of substantial tax advantages using this method, and in most cases is more beneficial than giving cash.

Memorial Gifts

A gift in memory of someone you love or admire can be a particularly meaningful way to contribute to OLSH. A memorial gift may be made to the OLSH Fund or restricted to student scholarship through Adopt-A-Student or Endowed Funds.

Gifts in Kind

Non-cash gifts of property such as computers, books, scientific equipment, art materials, etc. also make important gifts. The fair market value of such items is deductible for income tax purposes. A formal appraisal is required by the IRS for gifts in kind valued at over $5,000.00.
