Legacy Gala Volunteers

There are many different ways to help with the Legacy Gala, and we'd love to have you as part of our team. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Deena Swank '92, Alumni and Parent Relations Manager, at dswank@olsh.org or (412) 424-4610.

Gala Committees

Auction Prize and Display Committee: The Legacy Gala Auctions are central to meeting our fundraising goals. If you have a creative flair, enjoy shopping and treasure hunting and want to contribute your energy and enthusiasm to an active and fun group, this is the committee for you. Committee Chairs Heather Saftner, Amy Kennweg, and Lori Barbieri are looking for help in soliciting auction items, organizing prize packages and coordination. This committee also includes volunteers who are interested in creative display of items at the event.

Sports Auction Committee: Sports lovers we need you! We’re looking for volunteers to focus on getting collectible sports items for auction.

Set-up Committee: We need helping hands from April 24 - 28 to assist with event set-up. During the week, we will transport items from OLSH to the Sewickley Golf Club and begin setting up displays. Specific dates and times are TBD.

On-site Event Night Volunteers: If you like being a part of the action and want to enjoy the Legacy Gala event, volunteer to work on event night, Friday, April 28 beginning at 4:30 pm at the Sewickley Golf Club. We need extra hands to manage auction tables/sell raffle tickets/close auction tables/ tear-down/clean-up.

Decorations: Let your artistic talent and style shine while helping with table decorations and accessories. We’re looking for creative volunteers who want to be in charge of creating and executing “the look” to complement this year’s event theme: Sharing in the Story.

Office/General Support: If you love logistics, we need volunteers who are available to help prepare Gala mailings; organize/assist with event logistics and general support services.

Business Sponsorships Committee: Business Sponsorship dollars are vital to the Legacy Gala fund raising effort. We have a win-win proposition for businesses who want to get exposure to the OLSH community. We need just a few volunteers who will help contact businesses (most who have participated in the past) to secure sponsorships.

Registration Committee: This volunteer team works on event night (Friday, April 28, 4:30 pm) to register guests. Computer skills are required.
