Class of 2021 Welcome Night
We are excited to welcome the Class of 2021 and their families at our annual Welcome Night for incoming freshmen! This event will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:00 pm, beginning with registration of both parents and students in the Hall of Community outside the cafeteria.
The evening consists of two separate events—a parent session and a student session. The parent information session will include a review of all important upcoming dates and information for the summer and fall as well as an explanation of your child’s class schedule and placement test results. At the same time, the Class of 2021 will enjoy getting acquainted with one another through team building activities, meet current OLSH students and key faculty members, and explore (and sign-up for!) the many opportunities available to them in the form of activities and sports.
You don’t want to miss this first of many important events for the Class of 2021!
Congratulations on being accepted to OLSH! In order to receive your class schedule and placement test results at Welcome Night, please complete the following:
- Submit your seat deposit and acceptance paperwork by Friday, April 28. Deposits will be accepted at Welcome Night, but class schedules for those students may not be available that evening.
- If you have not yet taken the Placement Test, please contact the Admissions Office to schedule a testing date. Please note that all students must take the OLSH Placement Test prior to receiving a class schedule.
- All students must complete the Language and Elective Selection Form for scheduling consideration.
Students wishing to test out of high school-level courses such as Spanish I, French I, Geometry, or Algebra II will be required to take the course final exam. These tests will be administered on Saturday, June 3 at 9:00 am. Please register through the Admissions Office at (412) 262-3300.
Thank you for applying to OLSH! If you have applied but not yet received your acceptance paperwork in the mail, it may be because we are missing necessary records for your child. All applicants must submit a current 8th grade report card, complete 7th grade report card, 7th grade standardized test scores and any current individualized education plans or accommodations from their current school to be considered for admission.
If you have completed these steps but have not received an acceptance packet, please contact the Admissions Office. In the meantime, you may complete the other accepted student steps ( as detailed under the section for accepted students above ) in order to keep the process moving along!
Not Yet Applied?
Luckily, there is still time to consider OLSH for your high school destination!
Please go to our Apply! page to complete the application process and express your intent to attend OLSH. We encourage all families to submit their information as soon as possible to receive priority consideration for available course offerings as well as to take the OLSH Placement Test.
The OLSH Placement Test will be administered on Saturday, June 3 at 9:00 am for those who apply for admission in April and May. Please register through the Admissions Office at (412) 262-3300.
Not Sure What to Do for High School?
We would love to help you in your decision-making process and introduce you to all the possibilities an OLSH educational experience can provide!
Our Charger for a Day program, which is really the best way to see what a school is like from a student’s perspective, is available through the end of April and limited days in May. Private tours are scheduled at your convenience through the Admissions Office, and are conducted frequently throughout the summer.
If you aren’t sure if OLSH is financially possible for your family, set up a meeting with the Director of Admissions and the Business Manager to explore all options available. Over 45% of our families receive tuition assistance in various forms, along with a number of families who receive outside sources of aid. See the Financial Information page for more information.
